Biography
Growing up in Millarville, Alberta, Marney Delver’s artistic journey began in childhood. Sculpting with plasticine and drawing fueled her passion, leading her to seek out every art class available. She attended the Alberta College of Art, majoring in ceramics, and graduated with distinction. Today, she works full-time as an artist in her studio south of Fort Macleod, where she and her husband farm.
Marney’s clay work is inspired by nature’s ever-changing landscapes. Each piece is shaped by hand, celebrating the textures, colors, and patterns found in the natural world. She has received numerous awards and has been commissioned by private and corporate collectors. Her work can be found in collections across Canada and around the globe.
Artist Statement
Clay is my passion. An element from the earth, it is soft and supple, yet withstands intense heat to become strong and enduring. Its process is ever-changing—only after the final firing does the vision fully emerge.
My work reflects the beauty of the landscape, exploring texture, color, and form. Each vessel serves as a canvas for intricate details—handcrafted flowers, branches, or stones—shaped to mirror nature’s delicate balance. I create to inspire, evoke emotion, and spark memory. My art is meant to feed the soul.
