Artist Statement
For over a decade, I had the privilege of living on a remote parcel of land in the Porcupine Hills of Southern Alberta. Surrounded by nature, I developed a deeper connection to the wind, wild grasses, roaming animals, and migrating birds.
Painting, to me, is a physical record—a documentation of my experiences and my efforts to understand nature. I am drawn to moments of intimacy within the wild, elements that remind us of innocence and wonder. My artistic approach bridges classical painting techniques with contemporary abstraction, capturing the essence of both structure and spontaneity.
