Biography
Born and raised in Mexico City, Gerardo Carsolio was immersed in a culture rich in art and history.
His love for nature led him to explore landscapes, flora, and textures, which later influenced his unique artistic style.A self-taught woodworker, carver, and painter, Carsolio honed his skills through experimentation.
After moving to Canada, he combined his passions, developing a distinctive style that merges painting with carving. By using wood as his canvas, he enhances its natural grains, hues, and textures, allowing light to complete each composition.

I blend painting and carving to create a unique visual and tactile experience.
My work invites discovery, as viewers notice sculptural elements hidden within the painted surface. Inspired by nature, I challenge myself to push artistic boundaries, continuously exploring new techniques to deepen the connection between my art and its audience.
