Taste of Stampede presented by Safeway puts chefs centre stage, bringing their creativity to life through a dynamic lineup of events across all ten days of Stampede, where culinary talent transforms fresh ingredients into bold, unexpected dishes. Competition and flavour come alive between the Culinary Cup, live chef battles, demos and community cookoffs.

Each day of Taste of Stampede spotlights a featured Commodity Group, positioning that ingredient as the hero across all demonstrations and competitions. Commodity groups include: Alberta Bison, Alberta Beef, Alberta Lamb, Alberta Pork and Alberta Grains.

Culinary Cup

Alberta’s food scene takes centre stage at the Calgary Stampede’s newest culinary event!

Watch as Alberta’s top chefs battle it out in the Culinary Cup, a high-stakes, bracket-style tournament where the province’s most exciting culinary talent competes for a $10,000 championship title over ten days of timed challenges. From renowned restaurants in Alberta, these chefs will showcase both new-school innovation and classic technique - all judged by industry experts, media and guests.

Join CTVNews host, Adriana Zhang and CityNews anchor Rayn Rashid as they partner with chefs from Hotel Arts and Francine’s.They will battle head to head in a fine dining cooking competition with Alberta Bison as their hero ingredient. Celebrity judges Andrew Phung from Kim’s Convenience and Michelle Morgan from Heartland will decide the winning team.

Gourmet Tailgate
Canadian Football in the kitchen! Calgary Stampeder players cook off with chef partners from Park by Sidewalk Citizen and Pigeonhole, with Alberta Beef as their hero ingredient. Sangria Sisters bloggers and ParkerPR will be part of the judging panel to decide the winning team.

Dinner Party: Black Box
Firefighters vs Police in a kitchen black box battle with Alberta Lamb as the feature ingredient. After years of Stampede kitchen battles, they are going into this year’s completion tied.

Youth Agri-Food Culinary Challenge
Alberta's next generation of culinary leaders will be going head to head with Alberta Grains as their hero ingredient. These aspiring chefs placed in June's Youth Agri-Food Culinary Challenge at SAIT, and competed with over 40 students from across Alberta.
3:15 p.m.
Elevated Midway Fare
Wood’s Homes Youth Culinary Arts Program will be bringing some of their best to elevate a Calgary Stampede midway food. Cheer on these young chefs as they incorporate Alberta Grains into their dishes.
5:15 p.m.
Family Date Night
Olympian Luge team mates, Beattie Podulsky and Kailey Allan, cook off against each other with chef partners from Vintage Group and Mercato. Alberta Grains is their hero ingredient. Colin Patterson, Calgary Flames alumni will be on the judging panel to decide the winning team.

Fine Dining at Home
Calgary Opera singer, Helen Hassinger will go head to head with Calgary Phil principal trumpet, Adam Zinatelli. Alberta Ballet artistic director, Francesco Ventriglia will be on the judging panel to decide the winning team where Alberta Beef is the hero ingredient.

Demos

Take inspiration for your next meal when you watch 30-minute culinary demonstrations highlighting local chefs and ingredients, showcasing practical techniques and creative uses, with guests able to enjoy samples following many of the demonstrations.

Enjoy an intimate evening with Anna Olson featuring a curated selection of pastries and sweet treats paired with Champagne. Guests will enjoy a hosted Q&A, exclusive meet-and-greet, and insights into Anna’s world of baking and entertaining. This all-inclusive experience is designed as a premium Taste of Stampede offering.
