Alberta-based artist Paige Albrecht was raised in a horse training family, blending her experience as a horsewoman and rancher with her artwork to create the perfect union of her two passions. Living the western lifestyle has afforded Paige the opportunity to capture authentic modern cowboys and working horses in her drawings and oil paintings.

Her art career began as a self-taught artist, with Charlie Russell serving as her childhood inspiration, but has quickly grown through mentorship and the support of a loyal clientele. While she admires and studies the work of countless artists, her recent influences include James Reynolds, Bill Anton, Richard Schmid, and Carl Rungius.

Currently, Paige is focused on honing her skills as an alla prima oil painter and broadening her subject matter to include landscapes and plein air works, with the goal of capturing realistic western scenes.

Through her artwork, Paige is doing her part to preserve the authentic cowboy culture of the American West, where “Cowboy is King.”
