Biography

Dimitri Sirenko is a Canadian artist who explores a variety of subjects in his paintings ranging from seascapes and wildlife to landscapes, cityscapes and more surreal themes. Prior to becoming a traditional artist, Dimitri had a career in video games and art direction of animated cinematics and tv shows. These unique experiences allowed him to develop an expressive style with a unique depiction of his subjects.

As seen from his body of work, nature definitely serves as one of the biggest inspirations to him not unlike hundreds of thousands of other artists of different eras.

Nature is the key to understanding ourselves. Nature is perfect in every way. No person could truly question the aesthetics of any single tree for example. We just accept it the way it is and if we look closer and deeper, we will embrace its deliberate yet randomized perfection.

For Dimitri, nature constantly teaches us and tells us many stories and teachings. All we have to do is listen, all we have to do is see. And thus his belief is that in trying to capture similar emotional responses in our art, we can communicate anything be it concrete or abstract, physical or metaphysical to the people. This is why he truly believes that art is a language. It is a universal language similar to how nature is also a universal language. We are not just children of nature, we are nature. It is no wonder we all have potential to understand nature no matter where we come from.

Some may love Dimitri’s art, some may not, but the most important thing to him is that he expresses what inspires him and can potentially inspire others in many different ways not limited to artists. Dimitri wants to convey feelings and be able to speak that universal language to everyone.
