Biography
Daylon Plewis is a small town based artist located just outside Swift Current SK. “My wife and I got married at 19 years old in 2015 and I started making her things, as we couldn’t afford much. She couldn't help herself and made me a Facebook page without me knowing… it blew up,I didn't know the potential it would have! My work turned into a passion for art, and preserving pieces of this great country's history.
Artist Statement
First I find an antique that inspires the piece, then I incorporate that antique into the art. Everything is then hand drawn by my wife or I, and then I hand plasma cut myself (no computers used). All the layers are welded/spaced to fit together properly, followed by grinding down to a shine and then the colouring process begins for the different layers. Finally framing together 1x2 the metal tubing with the inspired antique.
