Biography
Brett Heidi, based in Olds, Alberta, is a contemporary painter specializing in North American wildlife and western themes. Growing up in a family of artists, she was immersed in painting and color theory from a young age, eventually taking on commissions for portraits and book illustrations. After working in administration and living in Mexico for several years, Brett transitioned fully into her artistic career. Her work is inspired by Alberta’s vast landscapes, the Rockies, and her experiences abroad.

I am captivated by the emotion and essence of my subjects. My impressionistic style, marked by strong contrast, vibrant color, and expressive brushstrokes, aims to capture the raw beauty of nature and the western way of life. Each painting tells a story, allowing the viewer to form their own personal connection. Through transparent layers of paint and luminous color, my work balances vivid brilliance with simplicity.
