The Queens’ Alumni host special needs children before the Park officially open. This year more than 680 people RSVP’d for the event.
The Caravan committee serves up a hot breakfast for everyone. Clowns, the ghost riders and other entertainers all come out to play.
But the best part is that the kids get exclusive and unlimited free access to the rides before anyone else is on Park.
Although there was a little rain this year at the start, the kids were in high spirits. When I asked one mom what Giddy Up Grits meant to her, she said, “Giddy Up! Grits means getting to be a kid and just have fun.”
