THE STAMPEDE RETURNS. BUT IT WILL BE A BIT DIFFERENT.
No doubt, some elements of Stampede will be a little different this year. We will do our best to bring back the favourite and familiar in close collaboration with Alberta Health. Our commitment for this year’s Stampede centres on community safety, local economic benefit, and a much-needed boost to our community spirit.
1. MORE SPACE. MORE COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCES.
With an emphasis on outdoor experiences, the 2021 Stampede will be scaled back in presentation and attendance. Pre-purchased admission to Park and reducing reserved ticket numbers will help control attendance numbers, crowds and line ups. Reducing the number of vendors and rides, allows more space for popular attractions.
2. BOOK YOUR ENTRY IN ADVANCE
New for this year, general Park admission can be purchased online. Rodeo and Evening Show tickets are also available to book online now, so click here to reserve your seats in advance.
3. ENHANCED SAFETY AND CLEANING PROCEDURES
Our teams will implement new, industry leading cleaning procedures throughout Stampede Park. Specific health and safety guidelines will also be posted throughout Stampede Park for all of us to respect and follow.
PLANS MAY CHANGE. OUR COMMITMENT REMAINS.
We are collaborating directly with Alberta Health in order to create the best possible experience for 2021. At the heart of all planning is a commitment to the guidelines and conditions at the time. Our planning and experiences will continue to flex and will be responsive to the changing environment.
THE BENEFITS LAST BEYOND 10 DAYS.
As a not-for-profit community organization, the Calgary Stampede will help our community realize some of the thousands of employment opportunities and approximately $282 million in economic activity, traditionally generated during the event.
The return of Stampede also marks the return of other businesses and gatherings. The Calgary Stampede benefits all parts of our community, activating thousands of jobs within Calgary’s tourism economy. Many local businesses, restaurants, hotels and service industries, depend on the Stampede to kick-start their summer season.
Looking past July, Stampede 2021 is integral to future community investment as provided in the past. This previous community support included about $2.7 million in annual youth programming, $1.5 million in support of more than 40 local social agencies through service club partners, and $2.5 to $3 million towards community education and outreach programs.
TOGETHER WE CAN HELP OUR COMMUNITY BOUNCE BACK.
In step with our community, we too are balancing the desire for recovery with safety. We look forward to contributing to the economic recovery of our province and boosting community spirit in the most responsible way we can.
Through the ups and downs of 109 years, we’ve always been there for our community. We look forward to continuing that tradition, together.
