If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing spot to enjoy some elevated culinary cuisine and whimsical cocktails, look no further than Bar Nineteen Twelve, the newest restaurant and cocktail lounge on Stampede Park, open year-round.
Immediately, when you walk in you are greeted by elegance and western hospitality. The staff is both friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and truly excited to be at your service!
Here are just a few of the reasons you should visit the newest hot spot on Stampede Park on the upper level of the Big Four Building.
1. The atmosphere – picture the vocalist stylings of Norah Jones and that’s what you’ll get from the artists singing live at Bar Nineteen Twelve. The seating options are a mix of comfortable wingback chairs, couches and comfortable stools, combined with fine-dining tables. The room is dimly light, with mid-century modern –inspired chandeliers – it’s a modern twist on upscale country.
2. The service – impeccable. Not only are the servers and bartenders friendly, but they are truly knowledgeable about the menu and excited to welcome you to this cool new space.
3. The cocktails – If you’re looking for a twist on an old classic, or a whimsical new creation, this is the place. Try the Bareback Bellini, or the Miller Brother’s Mojito for twists on old classics. They also have a special feature drink of the day and often have visits by special guests who promote their product and offer free samplings to guests.
4. The food – Think traditional Alberta beef with an Asian and French-inspired infusion. The Smoked Whisky Pork Belly Bao Buns, with pickled slaw is a favourite and the Kennebec Fries with Shaved Parmesan and Black Truffle Aioli are delightful.
Named after the year of the very first Calgary Stampede, this new restaurant is open year-round and offers delicious, elevated cuisine and a curated cocktail menu, with cocktails named after historic figures and is definitely a spot not to be missed!
