Volunteers cooking up a storm at the Cenovus Family Day Breakfast!
The sun was shining, a light breeze blowing and the pancakes were flipping on Sunday, July 8 – Cenovus Family Day.
The day kicked off at 8 a.m. with free admission and a pancake breakfast for the first 25,000 guests.
“It was a beautiful morning for Cenovus Family Day. Not only did we serve 25,000 pancakes, but guests also enjoyed a rodeo and agriculture 101 – which educated our guests about rodeo competitors and agriculture, and included special performances by Ducks and Dogs and a trick roper,” said Susan Beirnes, Programming Design Manager at the Calgary Stampede. “I saw lots of smiling faces and I think our guests had a fabulous time!”
Guests enjoyed the music of the Keister Family Fiddlers.
The Calgary Stampede is proud to partner with Cenovus to bring families together on Stampede Park and celebrate our western heritage with a traditional pancake breakfast and entertainment.
Stampede Park was bustling on Family Day!
“We look forward to this day every year. It’s been a long-standing tradition in our family and there is no better way to kick off Stampede than with a delicious pancake breakfast and entertainment,” said Roger, an excited guest who brought his wife and two kids down for the day.
Cenovus Family Day is held annually on the first Sunday of Stampede and always includes free admission until 11 a.m. , free pancake breakfast for the first 25,000 guests and great entertainment for all to enjoy!
