Can you believe some of us have never owned a belt buckle? I know what you’re thinking, “it’s just a little too cowboy for me” or maybe, “it isn’t cowboy enough.” This is exactly why Buckle-on Custom designs pieces you’ll wear and love with a selection and appeal for all ages. It’s the belt buckle you never knew you needed and wanted. From bling, to Lego, to golf balls, to western collector cards we think there will be some brand new fans after this Calgary Stampede.
The Maker Market celebrates Canadian Craft vendors like Buckle-on who’s custom products are handmade piece by piece and cast in Canada.
“We try to make every buckle unique and create something for everyone. Our goal as artists is to continue creating original designs and adding a little fun to the style of those who wear our buckles.” said Tora Boyle.
Buckle-on was started by two Calgary-raised girls with the need to be creative and who felt the best way to do this was to honour cowboy territory. They began with pressed flowers and rocks from their gardens and slowly incorporated beads, crystals and metals into their designs. Creating their own graphic designs was their next step. The up-cycled pieces include jewelry and broken heirlooms made into wearable art pieces. All of the buckles are crafted in their homes right at the kitchen table.
Come by and discover Buckle-on July 5 to July 8 at the Maker Market in Hall A of BMO Centre.
