Julie Van Rosendal, cookbook writer and CBC food columnist thought the event was a great way to show how Midway food is constantly changing.

“The food has really changed since I was a kid going to Stampede. I love how it reflects our culinary diversity and changing tastes,” said Van Rosendal. “I love that there is still fun food like Funnel Cake Poutine, but also new and different like  the Papri Cone. It was my personal favourite because it’s a vegetarian option, you can eat it while you’re walking and it’s spicy and full of different flavours.”
