In BMO Marketplace Hall A you will find Calgary chefs Pierre Lamielle, David Flegel, Cam Dobranski and Michel Nop competing for 2016 Top Stampede Dueling Chef.
David has over 30 years of culinary experience and has international experience in several different hotels, including a Michelin 2 star restaurant. He is passionate about the use of locally sourced ingredients and cooking with organic, free range and sustainable products.
Pierre brings a lot to the kitchen as an award winning illustrator, food writer, Chopped Canada Champion and contestant on Top Chef Canada season 4. Check out his website for some fun food related t-shirts. Pierre advises, “Enjoy every sandwich, it could be your last.”
Michel is culinary director assistant for Vintage Group (focusing on the Redwater Rustic Grille). According to Michel, most people would describe his food as “Frasian “(French/Asian , NOT fusion). When Michel was the chef at Chef’s Table they received the prestigious Relais & Chateaux. (the only Relais & Chateaux in Calgary)

Cam has been involved in restaurants since he started washing dishes in his uncle’s Edmonton diner when he was a pre-teen. He is a chef and an entrepreneur owning and operating 3 Calgary restaurants Winebar Kensington, Brassiere Kensington and Container Bar
The winner of Monday’s competition will meet the winner of Tuesday’s competition on the Kitchen Theatre stage Saturday, July 16th @ 7PM to determine who is top Dueling Chef of the Calgary Co-op Kitchen Theatre. The seats for this very popular event fill up so get there early!
