It may surprise you to know that construction of the Calgary Co-op Kitchen Theatre stage starts about 10 days before Stampede.  Every year at the end of Stampede the Kitchen Theatre stage and contents is taken down, wrapped and placed on pallets. It is then stored in semi-trailers on the Calgary Stampede grounds for the next 11 months.

Around June 21 the 6 pallets and 4 cabinets rolled back into the BMO Centre and the construction of the stage begins again.

Day 2:  The walls go up on the front of the Kitchen stage, and we are busy working with both Construction and a fantastic Calgary Stampede crew. There is a dedicated crew of construction volunteers that put together the back kitchen as well as several members of professionals from the Calgary Stampede staff who help connect electricity lines, gas and water lines.  We also have a crew of CS employees that builds our Kitchen Stage.

Day 3:  Amazing to see how, in a very short time, the Kitchen Stage goes from pieces on a pallet to an actual kitchen.  Kim and Shane came in from Silver Bow Woodcraft to put it together for us, and only with a few minor adjustments, the Kitchen stage is almost done.
