Stampede can seem a little overwhelming and crowded to veterens and newbies alike. One of my favorite places to go to escape the craziness and, let’s be honest, the rain – is the Western Oasis.

Located in Halls D & E of the BMO Centre, the Western Oasis is a calming place to take a break during a long day on park.  With low lighting, fountains, lots of plants, and many places to rest your feet, the Oasis really lets you recharge and relax.

This year they’ve combined the Oasis with the Western Showcase so you’ll also be able to wander around and look at a collection of artwork from local artists too.

And, for those that like to relax with a beverage, you can take advantage of the wine tastings that take place each day from 4-8pm.  I sampled a couple of different wines with a few friends before the Chuck’s one night and then I headed back to the Oasis a few days later for a mid-day glass of vino (no tastings then, but wine by the glass is available for purchase all day).

If you’re looking for something a bit different and relaxed, the Western Oasis is definitely a great place to check out.  And, it’s included in the price of your gate admission so your wallet gets a break too!
