Right next to a plush doll of the Stampede’s beloved mascot Harry and displayed in all its high-crowned glory Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame is now featuring a very special piece of Canadian sports history – the Clem Gardner hat.

Cassandra Cummings, historical specialist, and Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame Helena Deng, manager, exhibits and collections, pose in front of the Calgary Stampede’s display at the Hall of Fame.

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s mission is to share the stories and achievements of Canada’s finest athletes, and to inspire, unite and remind Canadians to be the best they can be in all aspects of life. The feats of Clem Gardner, cowboy extraordinaire, are certainly inspiring and represent the legacy and tradition of one of Western Canada’s favourite sporting events; Rodeo.

In the presence of greatness; Bobby Orr, Rocket Richard and Clem Gardner; legends of Canadian sport.

The Calgary Stampede is proud to support the mission Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, and is happy to have them display such an integral and unique item in their exhibition.
