On Saturday, October 15, the Calgary Stampede will host its first Community Fall Fair in ENMAX Park. Since officially opening in June of 2016, the beautiful park has hosted the President’s Event and been home to Indian Village during Stampede time. The Community Fall Fair is simply one more event that will showcase the spectacular new green space within Stampede Park.
“ENMAX Park is intended to be a year-round gathering space for our community,” says Warren Connell, CEO, Calgary Stampede. “By offering this Fall Fair, we are able to bring the community together to thank them for their support.”
The Community Fall Fair will have a little something for everyone. It wouldn’t be a Stampede event without the iconic pancake breakfast, but this pancake breakfast will have a little fall flavour! The Calgary Stampede Downtown Attractions committee will offer a free pumpkin spice pancake breakfast complete with whip cream, from 10 a.m. to noon. A number of food trucks will also be at the event.
If animals are your main interest, you can hop on a horse-drawn wagon ride through the Park, or get up close and personal with some goats, chickens and sheep.
There will be plenty of activities for the whole family, from old fashioned games like sack races and ring tosses, to pumpkin decorating and face painting. Warm up by one of the two fire pits and enjoy musical entertainment from the Keister Family Fiddlers, T. Buckley trio and Tanya Ryan or find your way through the corn maze.
At 12:30 p.m. guests are encouraged to gather round the stage for the Best Pie in Calgary contest. The Pie Hole, Simple Simon Pies, Sweet Relief, Pies Plus and Calgary Stampede Catering will bake their best pie to be judged by local celebrities. One pie will be selected to be the Best Pie in Calgary.
The Community Fall Fair is a free event for everyone. Activities and entertainment will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Upon entry, guests will receive a free commemorative blanket (while supplies last).
ENMAX Park is located at Stampede Park, easily accessible by bike, transit or foot. Free parking will be available for the first 500 guests. For more event info, visit calgarystampede.com.
